At ADSS, joining our team means more than starting a new job or volunteering role, it’s about becoming part of a community that changes lives every single day. We’re proud of our award-winning reputation, but it’s our people who make the real difference, bringing compassion, creativity and commitment to everything we do. If you’re ready to make an impact and grow in a supportive, values-driven environment, we’d love to hear from you.

I decided to become a volunteer at ADSS as I am retired and thought it would be good to offer my services. I had no experience with people with dementia, so it has all been a new experience for me. I completed the training last year and now help at the Beacon and also at a couple of drop-ins for coffee at Shorne and other village halls each month. I enjoy having contact with the people and find it a pleasure to help with the activities. The team that I am with works endlessly, taking care of the needs of the people, which vary considerably. No task seems to be too much for them.

There is a positive work culture here: everyone is so friendly and kind to each other as employees. Being person-centred and caring is very important for this role – as a value I think it is one of the most important. We are supporting people daily with their needs and getting to know them individually
